MC - Challenges & Victories
Quote from wcbrendaburgess@gmail.com on April 12, 2025, 6:21 pmA major challenge for Mallard is that, being the only location in our group open on Sundays, patient flow. With only one doctor on duty on Sundays, each new patient (especially walk-ins) brings a silent grimace because we know returning patients are going to be dissatisfied with the longer wait time. On Sundays, Mallard has a larger "walk out unseen" patient turn over than other days. Mallard has also undergone some personnel changes recently, yet the new doctors (Dr. Lilli and Dr. Parker) are definitely assets. Some patients, of course, do have separation anxiety for the previous doctors, but most seem pleased with the new staffing. It seems essential, though, that if MC is going to grow, the weekend staffing is also going to have to grow. Just as an observation, many Sunday new patients come into that location because their regular chiropractor is not open on Sundays or as a social experience -- something to do on Sunday as an outing to "try out" chiropractic care to see what it feels like. These patients have no interest in signing up for any sort of plan or purchasing a package. Another stumbling block to effective conversion of some patients is MEP status. Most of MEP patients have no interest in signing up for a plan. And why should they $29 a visit twice a month (for example) is cheaper than $79 per month if you don't use all four visits. This seems to just be a condition of the business and does not have a workable solution. I know you already know all this, but sometimes seeing it in writing helps think it through.
